Domaine Tariquet was the first producer to plant Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varieties in Gascony in the 1980s, then Chenin in the 1990s.

Fresh and charming, they take on the Gascon accent here and become surprising, crisp, complex, seductive. They reveal a real personality mixing subtlety and elegance that are acquired with experience.

SAUVIGNON

Introduced to the region by the Grassa family in the 1980s, the Sauvignon has developed new flavours growing under the Gascon sun. This wine brings any fan of this great grape variety a unique pleasure and indulgence.

Tasting notes

A typical nose of fine yet intense floral notes. The palate presents fresh, ripe and crunchy fruit alongside subtle notes of green tea and a distinct minerality. A delicious wine full of freshness and vitality.

Food and wine pairings

This Sauvignon should be served chilled at the start of the meal, though it also pairs wonderfully with a wide variety of recipes:

  • Aperitif and starters: common shrimp (Crangon), yellowfin tuna tartare, tempura, burrata with ripe tomatoes garnished with basil.
  • Main courses: fresh salmon pasta, grilled langoustines, cod fillet in butter sauce, risotto with asparagus tips.
  • Cheeses: young Chavignol crottin, Gaperon, parmesan.
  • Dessert: raspberry-blackcurrant sorbet.

CHARDONNAY

Chardonnay was planted in the region by the Grassa family in the 1980s. This Chardonnay fully expresses its fruitiness, highlighted by a delicate ageing in barrel of only a third of the wine for a short period of 2 to 3 months.

Our Chardonnay is available in 75 cl bottle as well as a 3-litre BIB, which is also vintage-dated.

Tasting notes

A subtle nose, delicately floral with notes of fresh butter. The palate is fresh and powerful with a barely perceptible hint of oak, finishing with yellow peach and fresh hazelnut.

Food and wine pairings

The Chardonnay will happily accompany:

  • Aperitif and starters: razor clams, a chipirones casserole, foie gras “au torchon”, pig’s trotters, warm goat cheese salad.
  • Main courses: sole meunière, grilled lobster, lamb shank with garlic jus, scrambled eggs with tomato and Comté, pan-fried crunchy vegetables.
  • Cheese: Camembert, Comté, creamy Saint-Félicien
  • Desserts: Apple with lemon zest pie

CHENIN – CHARDONNAY

Chenin blanc is a very rare grape variety in Gascony, which has been grown at Domaine Tariquet since the early 1990s. Here, the contrast between the minerality provided by the Chenin and the rich texture of Chardonnay gives rise to a sensation similar to sweet and sour in cooking.

Tasting notes

On the palate, the attack is fresh, direct, smooth and complex. The finish of this unusual blend is charming, offering exotic fruit mixed with saline mineral notes.

Food and wine pairings

This Chenin-Chardonnay will elegantly accompany:

  • Aperitif and starters: crab, Black Gascon pork ham chiffonade, a terrine of foie gras « au torchon », tomato and confit of artichoke.
  • Main courses: cod ceviche, shrimp in coconut milk, veal fillet with mustard and sage, vegetable tian with fresh herbs.
  • Cheese: Brie de Meaux, Brillat-Savarin, Pyrenees sheep-milk cheese.
  • Dessert: white peach salad.
