CLASSIC
Our first bottling of Classic was the 1982 vintage, which makes Classic Domaine Tariquet’s historical wine. Originally made entirely with Ugni blanc, a grape variety grown on the estate for its Bas-Armagnacs, the Classic has been able to renew itself thanks to the evolution of its blend with other grape varieties, while remaining loyal to its origin.
This first vintage won a gold medal alongside a « Congratulations from the jury » in Montpellier. The gold medal harvest continued for the following two years and in 1987, Classic was voted “Wine of the Year” in London.
This wine is the embodiment of the spirit of the wines of Domaine Tariquet. Fresh, crisp, and dynamic wines which offer endless moments of pure pleasure.
Classic is available in 37.5 cl half-bottle, 75 cl bottle with either cork or screw cap, 150 cl magnum, 3 and 6-litre formats, and also in a 3-litre BIB. These formats are all vintage-dated and offer the same quality of wine.

Because both Chardonnay and Chenin blanc are rare grapes in Gascony, their addition to the blend makes the Classic so unique.

Since the 2022 vintage, Classic is made of a blend of 6 grape varieties. It has gained in complexity, structure, length on the palate, aromatic power, and elegance, while retaining the freshness and lightness. The floral and citrus notes are even more intense with subtle notes of exotic flowers.

AMPLITUDE
Amplitude was born with the 2017 vintage thanks to a very careful selection of parcels. Made in very small quantities, entirely of Gros Manseng (the same grape variety used to produce Premières Grives), this authentic Gascon grape variety here is vinified as a dry white.
Its name “Amplitude” refers to the exceptional and surprising thermal amplitude between day and night that Gascony experiences during the summer

IMPRÉVU
A dry white wine with an alcohol content of only 9.5%, obtained naturally, without dealcoholisation.
Imprévu (unexpected in French) is thusly named thanks to its unexpected combination of Riesling and Ugni blanc. Quite surprising as Riesling was nowhere to be found in Gascony until 2010, when the Grassa family decided to establish it on the estate, fulfilling a long-held dream of theirs. The unusual combination of Riesling and Ugni blanc, the historic grape variety of Domaine Tariquet, gives a white wine that is all at once dry, light and harmonious, structured and balanced as well as aromatic and delicate despite its low alcohol content. Imprévu will delight consumers looking for new tasting experiences.
The selection of both grape varieties and the parcels on which they are planted, allow us to produce a light white wine, with an alcohol content of only 9.5%, obtained naturally, without dealcoholisation, while remaining completely dry.
As Riesling is not included in the authorised grapes in the IGP Côtes de Gascogne specifications, Imprévu is bottled under the IGP Gers appellation. Like all of our wines and Bas-Armagnacs, it is of course produced exclusively with grapes grown at Domaine Tariquet.

A nose of blackcurrant, raspberry, and elderflower. On the palate, the Riesling brings notes of white peach and fresh lychee. The Ugni blanc brings its characteristic finesse and freshness, alongside subtle notes of hops and a hint of the grapefruit’s delicate bitterness. A light and perfectly balanced dry white wine.

CÔTÉ
This unique wine owes its existence to pure chance. In 1995, the Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc, which were never intended to be blended together, were mixed by accident during the harvest. The vat was then « put aside » (“mis de côté” in French), hence the name of the wine.
But this atypical marriage turned out to be quite the success. So, while atypical, this blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Sauvignon has proven to be a match made in heaven.

The floral character of Sauvignon and the richness of Chardonnay come together to offer complex yet surprisingly harmonious flavours, from the citrus of the Chardonnay to the minerality of Sauvignon.
The finish is very aromatic, evoking both mango and pink grapefruit. The palate is generous, persistent, yet lively. A very original wine with a strong personality.

This wine is equally suited to be tasted before or during meals, pairs wonderfully with Asian dishes, spicy or exotic cuisines.
RÉSERVE
Réserve is Domaine Tariquet’s second historic wine released just after the Classic, both created in the 1980s. It comprises four grape varieties, aged separately from 4 to 6 months in oak barrels, then blended and kept in vats for almost a year. It’s a rich and complex wine of great finesse which perfectly pairs with dishes with sauce, white meat and mushrooms.

SAUVIGNON

CHARDONNAY
Chardonnay was planted in the region by the Grassa family in the 1980s. This Chardonnay fully expresses its fruitiness, highlighted by a delicate ageing in barrel of only a third of the wine for a short period of 2 to 3 months.
Our Chardonnay is available in 75 cl bottle as well as a 3-litre BIB, which is also vintage-dated.

A subtle nose, delicately floral with notes of fresh butter. The palate is fresh and powerful with a barely perceptible hint of oak, finishing with yellow peach and fresh hazelnut.

CHENIN – CHARDONNAY
Chenin blanc is a very rare grape variety in Gascony, which has been grown at Domaine Tariquet since the early 1990s. Here, the contrast between the minerality provided by the Chenin and the rich texture of Chardonnay gives rise to a sensation similar to sweet and sour in cooking.

CHARDONNAY TÊTE DE CUVÉE
In the 1980’s, the Grassa family were the first wine grower to plant Chardonnay in the Côtes de Gascogne. Today, vines over 20 and 30 years old make it possible to produce this unique and atypical wine. This particularly original Chardonnay Tête de Cuvée is made in very small quantities, and only in the best vintages.
It is fermented and aged in oak barrels for 8 to 12 months, depending on the vintage, before resting for a few months in stainless steel vats. Its ageing potential is of five years, or more for certain vintages.

A nose that is both intense and elegant. The palate reveals a complex mix of fruit with yellow peach, mango, and dried apricot which intermingle with notes of fresh butter and toasted hazelnuts drawn from the wine’s time in barrels. The lingering finish is rich with an underlying freshness characteristic of all of Domaine Tariquet’s wines.

Best served lightly chilled to pair a lobster bisque, langoustine salad, wild salmon, chicken with cream and morels, Gascon black pork, crispy sweetbreads, pan-fried porcini mushrooms and chanterelles, sweet potatoes and cashew nuts curry, and a platter of mature cheese.
PREMIÈRES GRIVES
The thrushes (Grives in French) arrive as the weather turns colder during Autumn signaling the start of the harvest of the late grape varieties. From these very ripe Gros Manseng clusters comes this off-dry white wine, both elegant and distinctive.
This wine was created by the Grassa family in the mid-1990s, and against all odds, before finding a large group of loyal wine lovers, much like the Classic did around ten years earlier.

Tasting notes
The colour is a shimmering yellow with gold nuances. The nose and palate are replete with citrus, exotic fruits including pineapple and mango. It continues to gain complexity with candied fruits, giving way to a finish of freshly picked grapes. This is a balanced, fruitful wine, whose softness gives way to its impeccably fresh finish.

Premières Grives can be enjoyed as an aperitif or accompany a multitude of dishes, including semi-cooked or pan-seared foie gras, free-range chicken cooked on skewer or in a cream sauce, shrimp in coconut milk, slightly spicy curry, vegetable tagine with spices, hard or blue cheese. It also pairs wonderfully with a wide range of desserts such as for strawberry-chocolate macaron, tonka bean crème brûlée, vanilla mille-feuille. It’s also a great accompaniment with a fresh fruit salad.
DERNIÈRES GRIVES
One must wait until the late autumn frosts to harvest the Petit Manseng when the last thrushes regain their strength before pursuing their journey across the Pyrenees on their migration route from northern Europe to Africa. The Petit Manseng clusters are at an advanced maturity at this point and are full of sugar. It is from these rare and prized berries (the thrushes also enjoy them immensely) that Domaine Tariquet produces this sweet wine, which is fermented and then aged in oak barrels for a little over a year. Once finished, it continues to mature in stainless steel vats for several months before being bottled. Dernières Grives is produced in very small quantities and only when the vintage allows.
Sweet white wine

Tasting notes
While rich and powerful, it shows great subtlety and freshness. The sweetness is never overwhelming, rather it plays in concert with the underlying acidity. The nose offers notes of white truffle and exotic fruits. On the palate, there is a beautiful impression of balance and fullness, combining aromas of toast, candied fruit, dried apricot, and spices.
Dernières Grives has an ageing potential of 5 to 10 years, further developing white truffle notes as it matures.
Food and wine pairings
Dernières Grives can be enjoyed at any moment and pairs wonderfully with a semi-cooked or pan-seared foie gras, Roquefort or Gorgonzola cheese, grilled toast adorned with a slice of truffle. It is an absolute treat with freshly picked strawberries, fresh fruit salad, roasted figs, tarte Tatin, or a chocolate fondant. And best of all, it can be enjoyed on its own, for sheer pleasure.
